Some locations in Italy have seen annual returns of up to 20% yet property prices are still low compared to many other European resorts of similar standards. The Italian government is also actively encouraging foreign investment into Italian property. There are no restrictions on what foreign investors can purchase in Italy and there are even favourable taxations for foreign investors. Since 2002 there is no capital gains tax on property sold in Italy and there is a maximum of up to 8% inheritance tax. |
