Investment Opportunities in Malaysia

One of the most exciting investment opportunities in Malaysia is on the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia, just south of Kuala Lumpur International Airport. Port Dickson, or PD as it is more commonly known, is located 32 kilometres from Serembam and just over an hour from the capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur and about half an hour from the airport. Since a long time, PD has been a favourite holiday destination for inland residents looking to experience sun, sea and fun on the 18 km of white sandy beaches.



More traditionally a weekend escape for Malaysian residents, PD is becoming more and more an international venue and although numerous luxury hotels line the beachfront and quality real estate resorts are being developed in the area, the beaches are still protected by rows upon rows of coconut trees, banyan trees and casuarinas palms. One of the most widely recognised quality investments in the country is also located here, Legend International Water Homes, each chalet built to very high standards and are delivered furnished to high standards, with private swimming pool, indoor garden, outdoor shower and free parking included in the price.

For as little as £ 2000 (€ 2852) investors can reserve a unit on the development, while 30% of the purchase price is required upon signing the private purchase contract which specifies the rights and responsibilities of both the investor and the developer as well as determining the delivery date. During the construction, the investor will make stage payments of an additional 65% of the purchase price, with 5% paid on transfer of title deeds and possession of the property. There are mortgages of up to 60% of the purchase price already sourced for investors by the developer pending approval.

Upon completion of the properties, the investor takes possession and pays the remaining 5%. The chalets will then be managed and operated by The Legend Group of Hotels and Resorts, best known for the highly respected Legend Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, the Grand Seasons Hotel in Kuala Lumpur and the renowned Legend Resort at Cherating Beach on Malaysia’s east coast.

During the initial 3 years of operation, owners will receive 8% return on investment in the form of guaranteed rentals. After the first three years have passed, the owners will receive 75% share of the nett operating profit of the resort operation for an additional 12 years (years 4-15) which estimates predict will result in average returns of 12.5% per annum.

Notwithstanding, owners are able to use the chalets, pending prior notice of a minimum of 14 nights and subject to availability at a discount of 50% of the normal published room rates.
