Hotels in MoroccoThe heady atmosphere of Morocco is intoxicating, its scenery awe-inspiring and its people charming. From the bustling souks and lively streets of Marrakech, to the ancient ochre walls of Taroudant and, of course, the imposing Atlas Mountains, everywhere you look, a new sight, a new experience greets you. Add to this a fabulous choice of hotels and resorts and you'll understand why Morocco has remained a favourite destination for so long, attracting poets, artists, politicians and celebrities alike. Morocco has a very healthy tourist trade so there are plenty of hotels in and around all of the major cities and tourist hotspots. Hotels are regulated by the “Fédération Nationale de l'Industrie Hôtelière” and standards range from basic budget accommodation to international class hotels in places like Tangier. Following the sale of the Hilton Rabat in the Summer of 2007 for aproximately $ 89 million, a spokesperson for Jones Lang LaSalle, who led the transaction was quoted as saying: “This sale […] acknowledges the success of the country's improved development policies, especially through its 2010 Plan Azur and confirms the continuous interest of international and national investors in Morocco”. Hotel Industry experts are certain that the introduction of both European (Easyjet, Ryanair, Condo and Air Berlin) and national (Jet4You and Atlas Blue) low-cost carriers will ensure a significant increase in the demand for hotel rooms in Morocco. |
