For a UK national to live and work in Turkey (including working while studying in Turkey), it is necessary to apply for a work permit and visa at least a month before your planned arrival date.

Applications should be made to the Ministry of Labour and Social Security for approval together with your passport, a letter from your employer in Turkey and a filled out visa application form. This can now be done online interactively with the ministry or through foreign representations of Turkey, such as consulates, embassies, etc.

Within a month after arriving in Turkey, registration with the police near your planned residence is needed to obtain the required residency permit.
